
Mary Theodore, a Madison resident, is originally from New York State. In her desire to explore the Pacific Northwest, she took her studies to the University of Washington in Seattle. There, she earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin with teacher Ronald Patterson as well as her Master's and Bachelor's degrees in violin and a Graduate Theory Certificate.
Mary has also studied privately with Joey Corpus in New York City and has performed in master classes led by such distinguished artists as Joseph Silverstein, Charles Castleman, and Norman Carroll. She has extensive orchestral experience and is a member of both the Madison Symphony Orchestra and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. She has also freelanced in the New York City area and played on the film scores for major motion pictures. Mary loves chamber music and founded and was Artistic Director of Chamber Music Vermont in her two years of living in Burlington, VT.
Andy Johnson recieved his Masters in cello performance from Ithaca College where he was the graduate assistant to Elizabeth Simkin. He conducted his undergraduate studies with Uri Vardi at the University of Wisconsin at Madison where he completed a degree in Music Education. Andy enjoys a career as both a performer and teacher having freelanced in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Central New York. Andy has experience teaching cello at Ithaca College, Camp Encore Coda, as well as his own private studio. Andy has also taught orchestra in the Skokie, IL, Wauwatosa, WI, and Burlington, VT public schools. Andy’s time away from the cello is spent enjoying his family, running, experimenting in the kitchen (often like a mad scientist), and checking out the local arts scene.
